It's the much anticipated (by me) conclusion to the summer.
We had ad such a great summer, after all the hard work with the flood clean up.
We headed to the good 'ole Magrath Days celebrations.
Naomi had such a fun time sleepoing the tent in Nana and Papa's
backyard. i think she felt special that we were the only ones who got to
 sleep out there.
We
all enjoyed the parade. the parade route was changed this year and we
found ourselves at the beginning for the parade. What a difference in
the candy haul! Nana and Papa don't need to buy Halloween candy to hand out this year.
I
can't believe that everyone in this photo is looking at the camera...
but of course someone had to have their eyes closed... thanks Daniel.
Sylas enjoying the fun.
He
really got into the candy part. At one point as were busy watching the
parade, we realized that he had wandered a little bit down the road in
pursuit of candy. We kept a better eye on him after that.
Kimber helping out Sylas

Auntie
Chelsea celebrated 10 years of being out of High School. So she got to
be in the parade and she threw lots of candy our way!
After the parade, we headed back to Nana and Papa's house for some yummy food and fun.
 We
set up a big slip-n-slide for the kids. I got to be the photographer
and got some great photos of the kids. If anyone is wanting all the
photos from it, just email me and I will email them to you. I had to be a
little choosy with the ones that I posted as someone had a hole in
their "bathing suit" and i couldn't post those. So Graham and Jacqui, if
you want those one's just let me know.
Uncle
Graham was a good sport and got into his suit and helped the kids
utilized the slip-n-slide. I pushed and pulled and shot those kids all
the way down. There was a lot of laughter. Uncle Don was good sport and
provided the much need water. I enjoyed spraying the kids too. Here are
few action shots.
Later
were the fireworks. We had put our kids to bed at normal time, and woke
them up for the fireworks. It seems to work well for our kids. We
handed out glow sticks to everyone, and watched a great show. Magrath
really does put a pretty good show for such a small town. Oh Naomi and
Sylas just layed there and watch so closely.
I think everyone had a good time.
 After
Magrath Days, Aric and I headed out on a much needed, child free,
couples vacation. We headed south of the border to Vegas. Oh my goodness
we had some fun. We got a super deal for the Luxor Hotel, the Sphinx
one. What an interesting hotel! All the rooms are on the outside of the
hotel, and then all the shops and theatres are on the inside of the
hotel.
The
view down from our room into the rest of the hotel. We were on the 16th
floor. I don't think I could have handled any higher.
 The
first night we got the half price tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil
Zarkana show. It was amazing! I couldn't really tell you what it was
about, my guess... the side show of a Circus. But the stunts and
acrobatics were amazing.
Before the show there were these weird clowny things interacting with the audience.
Hands down, my favorite show that we saw was The Blue Man Group . I would see them again in a heart beat!!! Absolutely amazing show for three guys who don't say a word.
Before their show that this robot woman walking around interacting with us.
She came and cleaned my camera lens for me as I took a photo of her
Then
out of nowhere a giant helium eye ball propelled my a motor came and
investigated the crowd. It was interesting to watch. We sure felt
"watched".
Then out of nowhere a mother eye came looking for her child. It was really weird... but really cool at the same time.
The
Blue Men came sooooo close to asking Aric to come up on stage.  The
Blue Man studied him quite a while then chose the man down the row. We
believe that is was due to his shoes. He was wearing sandels, and man
they chose was wearing black shoes. That way they could switch out the guy back stage for a pre-recorded video of someone else.
What a fantastic show. If they come to Calgary again. We are so going to the show.
I
don't think I have jad as much excercise as I did walking up and down
the strip. I had some very comfy shoes... but man the feet still hurt so
 bad.
The water show at the Belagio
Volcano show at the Mirage
Caesars Palace I believe
The paint job on the ceiling in the Venetian was amazing. I really almost felt like we were outside.
Nope... still inside
And of course we had to take a picture of the Chapel in our hotel.
Oh
my goodness, we had so much fun. That is a trip we would like to do
again in a few years.  What a blast. IT was really nice to be able to
pretend for a few days that we didn't have kids. It was nice not to have
to worry about a babysitter. We could stay out as long as we wanted.
We
sure missed the kids though. They gave us really big hugs when we
arrived back at Nana and Papa's house. For days after Naomi kept telling
us that she missed us and how she loved us.
The
next big event of our summer was a camping trip with my side of the
family. We all packed up our cars and drove to Kamloops B.C.. We camped
at Paul Lake Provincial Park. The kids enjoyed playing at the lake on
Saturday afternoon. Naomi loves digging the sand and making sand castles
Auntie Shar relaxing on the beach with Huxley and Neko
Jacqui and I decided to take pictures of each other taking pictures of each other
Beautiful smile Jacqui, you are quite photogenic
Just a cute photo of the boy
I like this photo. So candid. Even Aric is smiling showing his teeth.
My beautiful girl
We took a little walk after church  and we got a pretty good photo of the older kids.

Finally

now, but that is that brings up to the end of the summer.
Thanks for reading.
