She did it!

Ok so this will be the last post for a couple of weeks as I will away from my computer on a wonderful, fun adventure. But you know there will be plenty of photos and stories to be shared here when we get back.
We are so very much looking forward to out trip. Almost a full month we will be on the road visiting family and friends. We are sad to have had to cut out the California section due to Aric having to work until the bitter end of this month. But we are excited to see everyone else in either a few days to a couple of weeks. Palsky's I hope you are ready for the madness that will be this trip. But we couldn't imagine doing it with anyone else . :)

So I included this picture just because of the irony between her face and her bib.

We went to AMA this afternoon to get some travel insurance for our little trip, when Naomi decided that she was done being patient at the desk. So Aric took her over to some chairs so she could sit on the ground and do whatever. I turn around and she is up on her knees crawling. Slow, but it was crawling. Hazzah... she is fully mobile. Still working out the kinks, but she is mobile. She is so cute.
Now, I thought that maybe she was crawling because it was on carpet... but as you can see she crawls at home too!!! Our little girl is definitely growing so fast everyday. In the last 2 days to be exact she has started to sit up herself, pull herself to standing and now crawling. Next thing you know she will be wanting to shave her legs and wear makeup!!! Ok maybe not that drastic...
I hope.

Hazzah!!!

So today has been a great day. Guess who can sit up all herself now? ME! That's right, Naomi. I went to get her from her nap and she was sitting up in her crib. She really is growing so fast. I can't believe it. She is moving around a lot, not quite crawling... but oh so close!

So on to the better news... Houston... we have employment!!! Aric got a call and he will be a 3rd grade French Immersion teacher at Greenfield Elementary School, Edmonton Public School District. It is a probationary contract and we are so excited for it. You should have seen Aric on the phone with Greenfield. He was trying so hard to keep his excitement under control while talking to them. We were sitting in the nurses office at his school when he made the call to the school, and his principal was poking his head at the window with a big smile on his face. We are all so proud of Aric and what he has accomplished. We are on our way to him having a full career. Yeah!!!

Life as an Elementary School teachers wife.

Our little gangster.

Yesterday Naomi and I went with Aric's school for a field trip. The kids were taken to a nearby park that has water fun, climbing walls and such and also a playground. We were out in the sun for about 3 hours. Naomi had lots of sunscreen on so she is just find. I on the other hand am not. I didn't put any sunscreen on (I always think that I'm immune to the sun) and now I'm a lobster. Fun was had by all. Aric has so much fun playing with the bullhorn and calling all the kids to everything. Lunch was ordered in (Panago Pizza) and then later on freezies were brought in to cool us down. It was a pretty fun day and I have only included one photo due to the privacy act. It's too bad because I got some good pics. I did include this one because Aric is the main focus (shiny orange vest). It's too bad we couldn't share the really good photos. The kids were enjoying posing for Mrs. Wutzke.

Aric playing with the kids. He really is the only teacher who was interested in what the kids were doing. He was busy and involved the whole time.

Here Naomi was chillin and enjoying the sunshine. She eventually fell asleep in her stroller for about 20 minutes. Well she was about an hour and half late for her morning nap.

So it's a tough life having to go on field trips and having my husband off of work for 2 months in the summer, but someone has to do it.
There may be a lead or two on jobs for him next year. I will keep you all informed as we find things out. Keep up the prayers in our behalf.
Love you all.

Odds and Ends

Not a lot has happened around our house as of late. Aric and I went out on a date Friday night to see Green Lantern. We left Naomi home with a baby sitter. Since she has not been a good sleeper, we have been keeping her up late to see if that could help with the sleeping through the night.
Well the poor baby sitter had her hands full we think. She didn't divulge a lot. We believe she thinks that she failed because Naomi was not asleep when we got home. To be honest I totally expected her to be up. I think the sitter felt really bad. But what ever. We think that Naomi might be teething and that is why she is not sleeping well. But we have thought that in the past too. There is still nothing to see in her mouth but that tongue that is always hanging out.

It's been really rainy here so adventures out of the house have been limited. When it is lightly raining she seems to like the feel of the rain on her face. But we have had some REAL rain. It just pounds on the roof and we hope that Naomi stays asleep.

Well it is fathers day and I want to wish my wonderful husband, my father, father-in-law, brothers and brother-in-law a very happy fathers day. Thank you for all of your examples. We love you all.

Enjoying bath time again finally

So Naomi being the bad sleeper that she has been, has been getting up really early. So I take her into the living room and feed her and then she and I will fall asleep on the mattress.

Goofing off after nap time

Starting her early with the love of movies. Time to baby proof the house.

So she is pretty much mobile now. Between the rolling and the scooting backwards, and now she is using her toes to propel herself forward on her belly. It is slow going, but she is moving forward.

Outings to the Park

So Naomi and I have ventured to the park a couple of times now, and she loves the swings. She has always like to be swung in her infant car seat. Sometimes that was the only way to get her to calm down. Anyway we went to join our friend Rachel and her 2 kids at he park for a picnic. I decided to try her in the swing... and it was a hit. She was just so relaxed in it.

Here is Naomi and Rhys

So now that she has started to back herself round a room she is finding herself in some interesting places.

But since she hasn't figured out going forward, she gets herself stuck.

Concentrating so hard on picking up those cheerios.

Mmm... success.

Heading out for a walk with daddy and mommy. Destination... the park.

I think this park will be a great place to take the kids Chelsea. There is a little water area that they can play in.

First time on a slide that doesn't have water on it.

She tilted the hat that way herself. I'm sue it was on purpose too ;)

So just a short update for those who checking back every couple of days. I need to run as she is waking up from her nap. She has been so bad in her sleep patterns as of late. It's making me very happy. Up 3 times last night! Bad girl.

Naomi, Naomi, Naomi

Ok so I have taken many pictures of the Gnomster in the last couple of days and I just need to share how cute she is.
I found a bandana in the clothes she was given from some family friends. And she is just too cute to pass up photographing with it on. And she actually wore it all day!!!

So excited for feeding time!

Lookin all gangsta

You wanna piece of me?!

*Wink* I'm not that scary.
Now these photos you will her new favorite thing to do. Why the tongue... I do not know.

Raspberries and I don't know what she is doing.
So just a small update.

Now on sadder terms. Aric's grandmother (Alice's mother) past away last night. It has been coming for a while and it was not a shock... but of course it always is. She had been battling Alzheimers Disease for many years. We had the opportunity to go to California in March to see her and to introduce Naomi to her Great Grandma Estrada. It was fun to see the family and we got some good picture memories to share with Naomi when she is a bit older. Here are a few pictures.
4 generations June, Alice, Aric and Naomi on Junes lap.
I think this is the best picture since no one is looking at the camera and all eyes are on Naomi ( every other photo some one was not looking at the camera)
You will be missed June.

Well that's my post for now. Please leave your comments and let me know what you would like to see more of. TTFN!

Life in general.

So for those who don't know, Aric graduated from Elementary Ed last June. He took a job filling in for the last couple of months of a maternity leave at the beginning of this school year. He was teaching out in Leduc (about a 25 minute drive) in the Black Gold School District. He was teaching the 4th grade and really enjoyed it. That contract ended on Dec 3, 2010. Lucky he was offered to cover a medical leave starting on the 6th of Dec. So he didn't miss a day of pay! We couldn't have asked for anything better.
So he is now teaching 2nd grade in Millwoods in the Edmonton School District. And this time it is French Immersion. He is enjoying it for the most part. He has had some really challenging cases in his class. From students who are in abusive situations to parents who are out for his blood. But on the whole he has really enjoyed the French Immersion. AND... now that he has French Immersion on his resume, there a lot more jobs available to him. So we are now hoping and praying for something full time to come up for next year.
There have been major cuts to the Education fund this year and over 300 jobs have been cut from the Edmonton Public District. But we have high hopes for Aric this next year. He is kind of on the top of the resume stack because he is Male, French Immersion and Elementary, but your prayers are welcome.
Naomi and I have had the opportunity to help out in Aric's class as well. The kids just LOVE Naomi to bits. We were able to go on a field trip a couple of weeks ago with his class. We went to the Muttart Conservatory to learn about lady bugs (but it really was more about plants). It was quite fun, and a nice change from the walls of the our house! I look for any reason to get out of the house.

So Chelsea, Daniel and the kids will be joining our happy little house in August. Yes all five of them will be sharing our guest room while they look for housing (hopefully in our ward.) I for-see many trips to the Legislature (free swimming for the kids) and wherever really, so we don't all go stir crazy here in this tiny house. But we look forward to the company and good times to be had. It's going to be tight... it's a good thing we like them!

Naomi used to love her bath time. But a couple of weeks ago she decided that it's the worst thing in the world now. She hates the wound of water running even. It's kinda funny. I can make her cry on demand by turning on the kitchen tap! Anyway, we decided to try bathing with her again to see if that will calm her down. It does. So I'm putting some photos of just after bath time with daddy last night.

P.s. she loves the camera!

Welcome to the first day of the rest of your lives. I figured this would be the best and easiest way for family to keep up with our little family here in the frozen north land. Unfortunately there is not much to post today... but pictures, pictures, pictures. I know that a lot of you are wanting to see more pictures of Naomi. So I will try to keep up with posting them.

She is growing like a weed. We have graduated her from the infant car seat to a big girl seat. So nice for me as I don't need to be carrying that seat around anymore. I think she likes her new seat. She is higher up and can see out the van windows much better.

She isn't so much crawling around yet, as she is pushing her self around the living room floor backwards. She is cleaning my floors nicely while at it. At first she would push herself around just fine until she noticed I was watching, then she would freak out. But now she will moved even if I a watching.

So she got her first bruise. Like a good mother does I had sitting next to me but I wasn't watching. She topple forward and missed the mattress we were sitting on...

For those who know, my parents decided to serve a mission. They were called to serve in Apia Samoa for the period of 18 months. They were excited about this call as they have lived there many times and are very comfortable there ( and know what food to buy and where to buy it from). My dad has been looking forward to fresh papaya. It's like they are going home. But of course it will be different for them this time as they will be missionaries and have different responsibilities. We were able to go to Magrath to see one last time before they head off to the MTC. When they get back Naomi will be walking and talking. Here is a picture with the grandkids that could make it. L-R: Audrey, Dad, Naomi, Mom and McCoy.
Well I I think that is enough for the first entry. Besides Naomi is telling me that she is hungry.
TTFN!
